Some of the important stations that fall in the route of the Shimla-Kalka Train are Dharampur, Solan, Kandaghat, Taradevi, Barog, Salogra and Summerhill. The train passes over around 864 bridges. The bridges are very well made to sustain the pressure in the midst of a rugged terrain. Once you reach Shimla, take a bus or car to Manali. It is around 250 kms away.

Manali is around 570km from Delhi, and you can get buses connecting the town with the capital. You can get buses from the Inter State Bus Terminus or the Himachal Tourism office. It takes around 14 hours to reach Manali from Delhi. There are Volvo buses that are available. The seats are quite comfortable and the roads are also well maintained.
